The project focuses on emerging issues in mobility planning for smart and sustainable agglomerations and regions. Its main goal is to strengthen the research capacity in social sciences applied in sustainable and integrated transport and mobility planning in the engaged institutions. It builds on advanced Czech-Norwegian research cooperation, exchange of experience and good praxis.

The project aims to analyse short- and long-term changes in regular activities and transport behaviour due to the Covid-19 epidemic and their broader impacts - changes in shopping behaviour, leisure activities, commuting to work or study. Knowledge of these trends is crucial to guiding strategic development and formulating recommendations to promote sustainable urban mobility. The project will also bring knowledge about proven approaches to transport measures during the crisis caused by Covid-19 so that Czech cities can adequately prepare for another possible crisis and reflect this in their own transport planning documents. It will use research methods of economics, econometrics, sociology and geography.

The aim of the project is to prepare guidelines for management of large protected areas, especially national parks and higher zones of protected nature areas, how to effectively solve problems caused by traffic and how to integrate planning of sustainable mobility development into strategic documents of these areas. The main outputs of the project are – a certified methodology for preparation of mobility plans for environmentally sensitive areas and a database of good praxis regarding transport measures. Furthermore, datasets from sociological surveys and a technical report from the surveys will be created. Numbers and structure of visitors will be estimated using mobile data. The results will be published in relevant scientific journals and technical reports.

The main objective of the project is to increase teaching capability on the field of sustainable urban mobility management. This effort is focused on extension of student's practical skills by implementation of practical project-based teaching method. This method is aimed to provide a compliance with a real-world challenge by inclusion of Sustainable Urban Mobility (SUMP) implementation requirements, which are regarded by European Commission as a benchmark for urban mobility planning which is widely accepted by many European cities. Another objective is to foster knowledge and skills acquisition by students. To meet this requirement a common internet teaching platform will be established. Its main application will be to provide an access to all teaching materials, guidelines and case studies developed as intellectual outputs during the projects. But this platform is reach beyond this function, providing a place to establish international project teams by students, ask questions and search for solutions with a help of users from other universities

In this project, the Transport and mobility team focuses on transport behaviour and potential for development of alternatives to private car use. We tackle the issues by means of several case studies. They include, for example, an analysis of car-sharing users and its development potential in the Czech Republic, analysis of the development potential of ride-sharing, and analysis of impacts of transport policy on promotion of public transport and active (non-motorized) transport.

The main goal of the project no. TL01000462 is to support municipalities with strategic planning of sustainable mobility with an emphasis on usage of modern technologies and innovative measures, integrated decision-making (including interdisciplinary and inter-sectoral approach) and on (ex-ante) evaluation of their impacts.

The purpose of the project is to improve and increase effectiveness of public policies thanks to better strategic transport planning. The main outputs of the project will be a certified methodology on measures selection and evaluation which will be complemented by a web-based tool (by June 2021), a book which will introduce the concept and approaches to evaluation of measures of sustainable mobility (by June 2021), and continuous communication with future users of the outputs.
